The DaVinci Institute, a Louisville-based futurist think tank, said Tuesday it has entered into a partnership with Edison Nation to fund promising inventors.

Edison Nation, an outgrowth of the PBS series “Everyday Edisons,” is an online service that works to link inventors with retailers and manufacturers.

Under the partnership, Edison Nation founder Louis Foreman, who produces the PBS series, will be a featured speaker and serve as a judge at the seventh annual DaVinci Inventor Showcase on Nov. 5.

Select inventors exhibiting at the event will be invited to apply for a portion of Edison Nation’s newly established $25 million Innovation Fund.

“When I came to the DaVinci Inventor Showcase a couple years ago, I was extremely impressed with the caliber of products on display,” Foreman said in a statement. “These are exactly the type of inventors the Innovation Fund was designed for.”
